Not quite the Bees Knees

Color Zen Kids is a simpler version of a game which has enjoyed a profitable and successful run on iOS and Android devices, and finally graces the Nintendo 3DS eShop with its presence. Its claim to fame is one of offering a simple, child-lile puzzle experience in a Zen-like atmosphere; and with plenty of levels and no time limits, Color Zen excels at reaching its objective.

Shapes Up Nicely

One of the many perks of the Wii U eShop is that it enables single developers to release games which may not previously have seen the light of day. Issues such as physical copies, manuals and high production costs are negated by the eShop, allowing all kinds of games to enter its online shelves; good or bad. Thankfully, GEOM fits nicely into the 'good' category;...

As the impending release of Mario Kart 8 draws ever nearer, I thought it would be a good time to look back to where the series began with a little game called Super Mario Kart....

One sunny day back in 1992, someone at Nintendo thought up a brilliant idea, why not take the company's flagship character and put him in a racing game? Thus became what we would all come to know...

Where's the turtle power?
Have you been waiting your whole life to squirt monkeys with a water gun? How about doing this as a turtle in a retro inspired platformer? If so, Turtle Tale from Saturnine Games may satisfy that craving. Don't be fooled by the simplistic graphics, Turtle Tale is as difficult as older NES games of years past, and even comes at a budget price.

It seems like these day, you can't go onto any forum, chatbox, or news site devoted to gaming without seeing fanboy wars break out at some point. Even fanboys within certain companies; like Nintendo fans arguing over series. These fights may escalate to banning on some sights, cursing, and generally making a fool out of yourself. I'll admit that at least to some extent, I've participated in such events, and I know many that have too. I think, however, that while speculation (which is part of some fanboy wars) and debating is good, it is and has been since the beginning of creation a veil over what's...

Can you outbluff Phoenix Wright?

"Patience is a Virtue in Poker." That was one of the many helpful hints given by stationary NPCs in this poker game, and it also summarizes the game fairly well. There is no tutorial to teach anyone who doesn't know how to play Texas Hold'em, the version of Poker playable in this game, and the only way to learn trial and error if you don't already know how to play. This writer hadn't played Poker in 5 years, and it was a rough transition, and that was with a basic understanding of the rules.

Starting the game, you are either a overweight...

A Wild and Bumpy Ride

Renegade Kid's DS racer ATV Wild Ride was ported to the 3DS eShop last year with a huge improvement upon its DS release, online multiplayer. More impressive is the fact Renegade Kid managed to lock the game in at 60 FPS in full 3D, and in wifi too. A very impressive feat considering the number of available racers on the eShop. While the framerate is silky smooth, what was the cost to the final game?
Not much actually, most of these flaws can be overlooked if you are looking for a fun arcade...

Pure Chess is right

When Pure Chess was announced, it caused a large number of Nintendo fans heads to turn. This simple chess game features an online mode that would be perfect in multiplatform releases with online multiplayer, such as Call of Duty Ghosts, or Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed, cross platform multiplayer. Not only does the game feature this, but the game goes all out to display beautiful graphics regardless of the version you play.

The 3DS version really comes to life with the 3D, having the same great 3D effect like earlier Nintendo releases, Mario...
