Nintendo has previously announced an 8 hour twitch stream for Friday, September 12th, and promised to show off the final build of Smash Bros 3DS while they are at it. It would have been a safe guess to presume Sakurai might just continue to tease us with images of the menus, but Nintendo is known for not being conventional.

In the newest Post of the Day, Sakurai confirms Alph, one of the three protagonists from the Wii U game Pikmin 3 as a newcomer. Sakurai states "He has pretty much the same set skills as Olimar since he's basically just his variation. He can't use Rock Pikmin either."



Further clearing up any confusion that Alph was just an alternative skin, Sakuari shows the two different character select images. Mr. Sakurai has stated before that if two characters share any differences, then they can't simply be skin, they are entitled to their own character slot on the roster.
