Freedom Planet

GalaxyTrail Games has announced via Twitter that their title Freedom Planet will be heading to the Wii U eShop. While no release date has been set in stone, the team is optimistic it could launch by the end of this year.

In the words of GalaxyTrail,
"Freedom Planet is a combat-based platform adventure that pits a spunky dragon girl and her friends against an alien attack force. There's trouble around every turn, from insects to giant robots to sheer explosive destruction, but you'll have a variety of special fighting abilities to blast your way through each stage."

I can see the obvious Sonic inspirations, I even saw some similar bosses, or at least graphically similar.

Levels look like they are similar to 16 Bit Sonic, but the gameplay and speed feels like the Rush games

Not that I understand most of that, but I too also do see the graphical similarities at least. I think it looks interesting though, like a good mix of old and new.

Freedom Planet is launching on the Wii U on August 13th everyone!

I really would like a 3DS port, this looks like an amazing game.

This game does look great, I'll keep an eye on it for sure.

I played this game on Steam, it's pretty good.
