8 Bit Challenge League

The 8BCL is a new feature on 8BF, where users can compete against each other to gain points and new ranks on 8BF. Contests will be held once a week to begin, with occasional other contests and games to be held as well for those missing out.
Points will be awarded based on performance in a certain challenge, with 10 points for first, 7 for second, 5 for third, 3 for fourth, 2 for 5th, and 1 point for everyone else who has entered. In the case of a tie, points round up.
Hosting

Matches and different games will be hosted by designated moderators and players who have earned enough points to reach the proper rank. If you wish to host a match, please do not run two of your own at the same time, wait until the previous one has finished. You can however run a competition at the same time as another host.
Upon completition of a competition, Edit the title to give the winner of said thread their glory.
for example, change "Mario Kart 7- Neo Bowser City Time Trial" to...
"Mario Kart 7- Neo Bowser City Time Trial- Won by soandso".
Upon completion, either add the points by yourself to the users profiles, or PM a Moderator/Admin to do so if you lack the permission.

Ranks

Ranks will be given out based on the amount of points a user has. These will have to be automatically updated, so please post in the appropriate thread to claim a new rank. The ranks and point values will be posted in said thread to avoid confusion when they are calculated. This method will have to work for now, until we can auto assign ranks to users.

Misc. Rules

Please do not enter competitions in order to just gain the extra points. If you do not submit a final score by the deadline you will recieve no points, and any repeated abuses of the system can result in loss of points.
For contests, if your time is unusually faster than everyone else, or if you are caught lying or cheating, you can and will lose points based on how long oyu have done this for. Please keep the competitions fair and even.

Well, challenges can be any range of things, covering anything you can think of.
Be it a time trial time in Mario Kart, to a speedrun of VVVVVV, or even a mini tournament in Brawl, we'll find ways to let everyone have chances to play along.
For now, we can have just a weekly contest to start off, and a competition this weekend since more people will be free then.

I'd be glad to participate in some challenges.

EDIT: Do the times or challenges have to be completed after the challenge starts, or can it just be overall best? i.e., in the MK7 tourney, would it be possible for someone to post their best time even if they got that time, like, a year ago?

If any tourneys come up that catch my eye, I'll definitely join them. Looks like I'll have to be on the lookout...
